Thanks for the great blog, amusing and informative to read. I'm a UK male in his 40s, did a sprint tri a couple of years ago and now have returned to couch potato state.

I have entered for an IM next year to force myself to get back into shape. Your blog has inspired me to get my ass in gear

"Do you think if I start calling myself “Velocity Chic” I will beat Ginger some day?"

Most likely if we do a long distance race together - Half or longer. But since I don't plan on racing longer than an Olympic ever again because of my knee, then probably not. hahahaha!! :)

Thanks for the thrilling write-up. For those of us sidelined with injuries, reading a good race report is a rare chance to raise the HR.

I purchased my CEP socks from www.CompressionStockings.com a few weeks ago. I also had a question regarding my sizing (since I was on the border of sizes as well). I emailed them and no joke, they responded right away telling me which size would fit best (if that's not great service, I don't know what is). Anyway, I have been wearing them for my runs and they are excellent. You should definably give CEP another try! I'm thinking of purchasing another pair in a different color, I just can't decide between the green or the pink!

Wait... what about the black tri suit and deciding to ditch your socks for the run to shave off time??? ;)

Aside from the pain on the run and the painful side stitch from going so hard to catch Carol this was a super fun day!! I love racing with friends!!

Thanks for sharing the video. Rollers look a really good way of practising at home, especially in bad weather.

I disagree with you, horizontal bike flag is the best product to stay cars away from you on bike road. The reason is simple drivers do not want any scratch on the side of their car. Then they stay much more away from you then without using the flag.

But from my own experience of many years you should buy the 17'' model at http://www.flashback.ca (not the 14'' which is a little bit too short).

I think I will have to give this a try too. I have just starting training again after a couple of years of being slack and it has brought this condition back on.
I used to only have this occur when I was really pushing myself. I think my cardio condition is so poor at present that anything is 'pushing'.
I am sitting here also 26 hours after my first 30' run and my nose is still dripping, my nose is burning and I am constantly wanting to sneeze.
Will I let this stop me........no.
Thanks for the advice.

Carol - I really like the layout and setup of your blog. My wife is a triathlete and trainer and is looking at setting up something similar. What service did you use and did you set it up yourself?
