OMG – three swimming posts in a row. Someone take my temperature!

Yesterday when I was swimming I was vaguely aware of a bubble of air trapped under my latex swim cap. I’ve noticed this in the past, but typically ignore it and keep swimming. For some reason, yesterday I decided to stop and fix it. When I started swimming again after getting rid of the air bubble, I noticed it was easier to maintain balance without that bubble causing my head to float up.

One of the Total Immersion swimming principles is “hiding your head”: Feel as if a thin film of water could wash over the back of your head at any time.

Note to self: wet hair down thoroughly before a race so no air can get trapped under my cap!
