Are you thinking you’d like to get started in the sport of triathlon, but you don’t think you are lean enough, or fast enough, or athletic enough? You don’t have to be lean, fast or athletic to participate in the sport of triathlon. All you need is persistence to do the training! I wasn’t lean, fast or athletic when I began my tri journey. One year later, I am still not any of those things, but I am heading in that direction, and I am having a blast along the way! (Okay, two years later I am kind of lean and kind of fast :D ) (Update: four years later I am lean and really fast!) You can do it, too, if you just put your mind to it.

Here are some of my blog entries useful to the beginner:

ah! Great Blog! So happy to find you! I thought I had found another man’s site for tri, and when I saw your pic I started to lool closer at the site. I could be you! I used to be fit as a tank (when I was 20) now I am 39, overweight and out of shape. I have been looking at the couch to 5k but I have about 80 pounds to lose and think I need to start with more walking for my knees. So happy to have found your site! You are an inspiration!

I just stumbled on your blog here. Nice to see more people like me. Working my butt off to be mediocre.

I haven’t read Triathlon 101, I really like the Triathletes Training Bible by Joel Friel. It’s more for someone interested in working out their own training program. Not for everyone, but perfect for me.

    Keep bloggin.
