I USE the Crank EGels!! Hmmm.... did you get that from me??? For Ironman, use a gel flask so you don't have to take all 150 cals at once. In training I can handle the 150. The Gu Chomps are awesome, but the Roctane is expensive!!!! Aminos will keep your mind sharp.

Thanks for all the comments! I do love comments on my blog :-) For fuel today, I ate a Smuckers Uncrustable in "T1". I also used a new gel I wanted to try out that would replace NUUN and Gu Roctane, because it is high electrolytes. It's called Crank Sports e-gel. Would save me a lot of money over those other two products! I liked it, except the pouches are 50% bigger, so I have to take in 150 calories (and more volume) at once. That was too much. When I got to the run part of the day, I couldn't bear the thought of swallowing that much gel, so I squeezed it into my palm holder water bottle. That was perfect. Energy wise, I felt good. Muscle fatigue and sorenss-wise, I can't really say. I was more sore and fatigued than normal, but I also rode my bike 50 miles yesterday, so it's not a fair test.

Will test it some more and blog about it when I figure it out. I am also trying out Infinit for the bike nutrition, and am leaning toward that for the bike plus Gu Roctane for the run.

Loved the one bike shoe - priceless! I don't know if I would have been smart enough to look down - probably would have tried to "run through it..." Great day for you all around - sounds like you are ready for your upcoming races....

This was an awesome post! I read the whole thing. It's good insight about training that cannot be found in any training literature. Keep up the good work. The shoes! Bah! Hilarious!
