If you* read my 2X Sucky workout blog, you know I got overheated while biking and running in really hot weather last week.

Well, I went running two days later in weather that was just as hot. This time I was okay, because…

  1. I was going slow and taking it easy instead of pushing hard.
  2. I looped past my house so I could refill water as needed.
Yesterday I went out and did another bike/run workout. I got up a little earlier than usual and I made sure to drink alot on the bike. I pushed hard on the run for the first half. When I got to the lake (the half way point), I took off my running shoes and jumped in to cool off (that reminds me of my Dad saying “Go jump in the lake”). It was really hot running back home, so I eased off a little on my pace. I was okay heatwise. I wore a brand new pair of running shoes without socks (don’t ask me why). Ouchie – major blisters on the back of my heels.

*I think there are 2 people who read this blog: my cousin MB and my internet buddy, Ron. Maybe three… a woman named Lisa who found my blog and is training for her first tri, tho I haven’t heard from her in a while…i wonder if she did her race yet. PS, Ron – I updated that blog about macing dogs!
