Last Saturday, I placed an order through Amazon.com for a Fluid Watt Bike Trainer sold by Nashbar. Apparently it’s impossible to cancel an online order placed via Amazon.com from a 3rd party company. The process is so automated, that a human can’t retreieve the order.
Amazon says you have to contact the 3rd party company.
I emailed Nashbar right away (on Saturday), asking to cancel the order. Then, on Monday, I called Nashbar three times. They were extremely nice each time, but said they don’t yet see the order in their system, and to call back in an hour. The third time, the sales person took down my order details and said they’d try to track my order down. About an hour later, I got an email from Amazon saying that Nashbar canceled my order. I figured everything was cool.
The next day, I got an email from Nashbar, saying the item shipped. Today, FedEx delivered a package from Nashbar.
They haven’t charged my credit card yet. The order no longer appears in my Amazon.com account. Don’t know what I’m going to do. I guess I’ll wait a day or so to see if they charge my credit card. Then I’ll call Nashbar and ask them to send FedEx to pick it back up.
