Yesterday I ran on a trail instead of on the road. I did 4 miles. Usually when I do over 3 miles, I feel quite a bit of pain near the end of my run and afterwards, in my metatarsels and bunion in my left foot. Yesterday I did not. So, I think I have figured out that running on a soft even trail is the answer to my foot problems.
For my 1/2 marathon training program, I will do my long runs on the trail. I will still do the shorter runs on the road, since I think it’s important to do some road running to keep my joints able to handle the stress of the road, in preparation for road racing.
PS: If anybody is reading this and think I am making mistakes in my training, please email me: ncskibum@gmail.com !!!
