When I got home from work today, there was a Fedex package waiting for me. I looked at the return label, and it was from Scott Surface of OutsidePR, an ad agency that represents Gu. I asked him to send me some of the new Gu flavor to try out, after reading about it on Steve in a Speedo’s blog. I was so happy to get the package because I totally love Gu!

Then I poured out the contents all over the floor. I felt like a little kid with a stocking full of holiday goodies…
I posted “Look at all the Gu Loot!” on my Facebook status, and my sister commented “Goot”. She always was the clever one! All in all I counted 24 Gu’s. There are are several flavors of Gu Chomps, four Pineapple Gu Roctane, one Chocolate Mint holiday Gu and a whole box of Vanilla Gingerbread Gu.
And…(drumroll please)
Four pouches of the top secret new Gu Flavor! I will try it out on my bike ride tomorrow and post all about it. The Gu Roctane I will save for my next race. I always use Roctane during my races. That stuff really works to help maintain mental focus! Thanks, OutsidePR, for the Goot!

Carol, was this a fun deal for you or what?! I'm intrigued with the new mystery flavor but won't expect you to hold any of that, thanks for offering though. I've used everything GU forever it seems and am loving their continued research and release of new products; shows they are in tune with the importance of nutrition for athletes during the heat of battle and these products are designed for optimal performance, thats why they work so well. I never race without a load of GU in the jersey...
