A friend, Bob L, sent me a link to a great website that shows lake water temperatures. It’s for fishing, but hey, works for me!
It is showing the current temperature for Lake Quassapaug as 46 degrees. Lake Quassapaug is where the Rev 3 Tri race is located. I’m sure it will warm up alot between now and then. Quassy Amusement park beach is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, so it must be “swim-able”!
I think I will buy neoprene booties and swim cap – I am a cold wuss!!! Plus, I will need them for the B2B race in November.
Update: I thought I’d track the temperate as it goes up.
April 15 – 46 deg
April 24 – 50 deg
May 18 – 58 deg
June 15 – 57 deg. On race day, June 7th, the actual temp of lake was 65 deg.
