I went to Myrtle Beach with my family for Spring Break. We stayed at the Sea Crest Resort: http://www.myrtlebeach-resorts.com/sb/
I brought my bike so I could do some training on flat ground. (I live in Chapel Hill, where it’s quite hilly).
I rode for an hour, and I was able to average 13.6 MPH. Around Chapel Hill I usually average about 11.1 MPH.
While biking at Myrtle, I saw several other bikers, who of course looked like pros compared to me. One woman yelled at me from across the street that I needed to raise my seat up.
Whoever you are, thank you for your tip.
I admit that I don’t really know how to properly adjust my bike. The Triathlon 101 book I have just shows a picture of an athlete on a bike, and it says if your posture looks about like this picture, than it’s about right. I guess that’s not the best advice to follow.
After searching google for a while, I cam across this website:

My next bike session is Monday, and I’ll follow those instructions and post back how it goes.
