I canceled my order for the new wattage bike trainer. It was one of those impulse buys…my coach recommended it saying it’s what he uses and that they probably aren’t going to make them any more. So, I put the item in my cart at Amazon.com and it said 1 left in stock, so I just clicked the Confirm Order button! Afterwards, I decided I really couldn’t afford it; and I don’t need that big of a birthday present!

I believe what my coach said about wattage being the ideal way to train on the bike, but I can’t always have everything I want šŸ™ I did a tempo ride watching my HR yesterday, and it was great. All you really need is a long stretch of road with little traffic and no stops so you can focus on riding hard. I have at least three great spots for that type of workout.

If I didn’t already own a trainer, I would buy the Nasbar Wattmaster Fluid one. I do highly recommend having a trainer for intense bike workouts like the Spinervals DVD’s, as I feel you can really focus on intensity when you don’t have to worry about traffic and stop signs, potholes and such.

Another great deal in a trainer that measures wattage is the Kurt Kinetic Trainer Kit…
