Be careful Carol. I know some squirrels that are pretty pissed, and they have been discussing some litigation.
I assume that you got the same e-mail that i did when i first posted a blog entry about Finman. The author of the letter is not listed with the Bar Association and did not respond to me. Furthermore, if Finman cheated and you call him a cheater, it is not libel.
leave it alone, Carol. The guy is not worth it. last thing you need is even the HINT of a lawsuit. just to hire an attorney to tell him to F-off would cost you $2,000. not worth it.
the guy is an idiot and a loser. based on the sign he wore on his back at NYC, he is starving for attention. he is no doubt reading this blog with every post. He’s a loser, he knows it and his kid(s) know it.
WOW. Sounds like this might be another lie. How sad that he needs to resort to such dishonesty. I say, post the e-mail or the post the post again and see what happens. It seems this guy will do just about anything but in reality he can’t stop the internet-fueled tri community from skewering him. Just my 2 cents.
I searched the bar association directory for the lawyer’s name listed in the email (which came from a yahoo email account). There is no lawyer by that name anywhere in the country. And none with the last name in the state in which this fellow lives.

Just when I thought this story couldn’t get anymore interesting, it does! I never would have anticipated you would be threatened with a lawsuit over this.
Seriously? A lawsuit? For what? It’s undeniable that he was found to have cheated and lied and was subsequently DQ’ and BANNED for one by NAS. It’s also undeniable that he has apparently cheated in his business practices as well as he was suspended for a time by the board responsible for oversight. And for him to try and pass himself off as an athlete and a COACH? Definite douchebag.
You should post the text of the letter. He or his agents sent (published) it, so there can be nothing for anyone to whine about. It also appears that the thread from the running forum where he was called out was removed.

on a serious note, I was telling my wife this story last night. Her first reaction, “Why, aren’t triathlons a test against yourself?” “Only a complete moron would cheat against yourself.”
It’s like playing checkers against yourself and cheating. makes no sense.
All I can think of is he wanted better results to attract some clients…wasn’t he trying to “coach”
f’in loser!!! To be honest, hopefully this is a good thing in the long run. when searching this story, apparantly IMFL is famous for turning their head when it comes to drafting. this is cheating as well. hopefully this will shed light on IMFL to impose penalties on drafter next year. who knows???

Found it with a little detective work. Still a great article up at everymantri about good old Frank, and it looks like people are comment spamming his blog. He deserves all of it.
